Founded by Gordon G'85 and Fraser Moore G'95 40tude is an innovative and successful charity tackling colon (bowel) cancer. If you're a non-smoker in the UK, male or female, colon cancer is the most likely cancer to kill you. The number of families being touched by this type of cancer continues to rise.
This needn't be the case however: colon cancer is one of the easiest cancers to treat if it is detected early. The really good news is that it can also be prevented, through regular screening.
40tude's purpose is to transform the early detection and treatment of colon cancer. We raise awareness of this preventable disease, as well as funds for vital research. So far we've raised more than £2.25 million, and 40tude is now supporting eight leading-edge research programmes led by St Mark's Hospital, the National Bowel Hospital, targeted on stratifying risk and improving screening capacity, so that limited NHS resources can be directed to those who need it most.
We raise funds and promote awareness via a series of unusual physical challenges and events throughout the year. Why not join us? It could be life-changing! And if you do just one thing today, please put 'getting screened' at the top of your list - it might save your life.
