We're delighted to report that former Prep School Worthian, Fr Timothy Radcliffe OP WPS'58, is to be created a cardinal by Pope Francis, the first alumus to do so. Announced last week as one of 21 new cardinals from around the world, he will bring the total of English cardinals in the Roman Catholic Church to four - for what is believed to be the first time ever.

Born in London in 1945, after Worth Fr Timothy went to Downside and then St John's College, Oxford. He became a Dominican in 1965, was ordained priest in 1971, and went on to become the global Master of the Dominicans.

We send him many congratulations!
