An Easter Message from Abbot Luke

Abbot Luke Jolly C'71

Dear Worthians, I hope this finds you and your families in good health and good heart. We come to our celebration of Holy Week and Easter in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic which has led to our churches being closed - a necessary step, but the prayerful atmosphere of church and the great liturgies of this season will be sadly missed by many people. This comes at a time when the turning of our world upside down makes us more aware of our dependence on God and of our interdependence with other people. I am glad to say that we are now livestreaming our monastic Offices, Daily Mass, and other major liturgies, which means that you can still join us. The monastic community is deeply aware of the challenges that the pandemic presents to you. We remember you in our prayers; and are very grateful for your prayers and good wishes. If you have particular prayer requests please let us know. I pray that through Holy Week and the celebration of Easter may we all be strengthened to support each other in these uncertain times and to find God’s presence among us.  Abbot Luke Jolly C'71
