Oli Jacobs F’10 has spent the last week celebrating having picked up two Grammy Awards on 5th February. Harry Styles' album Harry's House won Best Engineered and Album of the Year at the star-studded event in Los Angeles. Harry's album also won Album of the Year at the Brit Awards on 11th February in London, and Oli's work with British band The 1975 was also recognised with their Brit Award for Best Alt/Rock Act.

Oli says of Harry's album, “Working with Harry was amazing - I was fortunate enough to record 3 tracks - Sushi, Keep Driving and Little Freak. Harry is a creative force in the studio, always striving for new ideas with huge energy - as are his whole team. I'm very grateful for these awards!”.

After leaving Worth, Oli went to the University of Surrey to do the Tonmeister Sound Recording & Music Course. Upon graduation in 2014 he spent the next 8 years working at Real World Studios, the recording facility created by Peter Gabriel set in a stunning rural setting new Bath, working his way up to Head Engineer. Oli went freelance in early 2022 but continues a close friendship with the Studio as an Associate Engineer and worked there with Harry Styles. Most recently he has engineerd and played various instruments on Peter Gabriel’s forthcoming album and tracks from Charli XCX's album Crash. Oli has also worked on several orchestral film/tv projects with Netflix, BBC, Sky and Channel 4, and has just recorded the official sample library for The Royal Albert Hall’s organ. In 2022 he worked on Robin Robin, a short film by Aardman/Netflix, which was nominated for an Oscar & Ivor Novello Award for Best Score.

Big congratulations Oli! You are sure to have many more awards ahead of you!
