The Shanghai home of former Head Boy, Jack Harrison G'00, has been featured this summer in Shanghai Daily. Set in a traditional 1930s building, Jack's apartment is a modern, contemporary home in the heart of the city and reflects his years of living across different cultures.

A founding partner at ArcOn Brands, a brand management business with clients such as Mandarin Oriental and Charbonnel et Walker, Jack has spent 17 years working across Beijing, Taipei and Hong Kong, relocating to Shanghai last year as part of ArcOn’s expansion.

Jack says, “I’m drawn to contrasts, and Shanghai is full of them. It’s a city where old meets new; East meets West. I wanted to create a home that embodied that. There’s a buzz to Shanghai that’s hard to explain unless you’ve lived here.” But what mattered most was the building’s history, “You can feel it when you walk down the halls. These walls could talk,” he said.

Jack's vision for his apartment was modern comfort whilst keeping character, “I wanted a place that worked for solo downtime but transformed easily when friends come over. It’s a place I genuinely love returning to, rooted in the heritage of Shanghai yet modern and unmistakably my own. Having lived here for a year, I think Shanghai is one of the world’s great cities, and I am thrilled to call it home.”
