OW Debating Society finally win shield

Debate against 4 day work week brings triumph for OW team

Friday 20th March saw the third year of the alumni vs School gala evening of debating here at Worth and a triumphant evening for the Old Worthian Debating Society. We were delighted to have Matt Doggett F'07, former Head Boy Freddie Bosshard F'23, Viktoria Pomazan StM'24 and Tom Tyley StB'25 join us as the alumni debating team, and Alexander Stewart-Clark R'29 and Chris McCourt B'83 as part of the judging panel.

The motion for the evening was 'This House will impose a 4 day working week on businesses'. The School team were the government and made a great effort to defend the motion, including a strong performance from Freddie's brother Louis in Year 12, however the OW team's objections were just too persuasive.

We look forward to next year's event and the opportunity to retain the shield.
