Sunday 26th June saw the return of the Worthians 5-a-side Tournament to the Astro Pitch at Worth for another fantastic afternoon of Worthian sport. Desite being down to 7 teams due to rail strikes and Covid, it was a great turn-out: The Bravermen captained by Stefan Humphries C'05, Rivers FC captained by Joseph Rivers F'10, The Quadrilaterals captained by James Kemp F'14, Class on Fake Grass captained by Oli Paisley C'19, Team Woodman captained by Harry Woodman F'10, the Teachers Team captained by Robin Moss, and the Worth Thursday 5-a-side tea played some great matches with some stellar performances.
The Teachers Team worked their way up to a place in the Final against Team Rivers, made up of the four Worthian brothers, Joseph F'10, Theo F'11, Ollie F'14 and Max F'16 with the addition of Nick O'Dwyer StB'11 in goal. Team Rivers triumphed with a 5-1 victory and were awarded the H Trophy, in memory of Henry Surtees C'09 RIP, by Worthians Football Manager, Andy Taylor.
A big thank you to all who played and came to support. See you all again next year!
