Come and debate current students at Worth
Come and debate current students at Worth

Worth School’s Senior Debating Society invites alumni to an evening of debating in the Whitehead Room at Worth on Friday 1st December 2023. The debate will be preceded by a dinner where the teams will be able to meet and mingle. This event is the first gala event in the debating calendar and will be a formal black tie event. It will be lovely to celebrate debating at Worth with members of our wider community as the Society prepares for the competition season.

The Society invites alumni to make up a competing team of 6, consisting of 4 speakers and 2 researchers, and would also like 2 or 3 people to take up the role of judges for the evening. We would love to see a mix of alumni from across the years. The debate topic will come from current news and will be published 15 minutes prior to the beginning of the debate. We use a modified Oxford Schools debate format and a full explanation of the format will be sent out in advance.

Please express your interest in taking part to Mrs Dawn Clubb at dclubb@worth.org.uk and cc Worth Society at worthsociety@worth.org.uk
