News from The Old Place

On Bank Holiday Monday 29th August 2022, Abbot Mark Barrett, the Monastic Community and Worth Abbey Pilgrims invite you to join them at Worth Abbey for their Festival.

The estate will be open to to visitors, parishioners and friends.  All are welcome. The celebrations start at 1pm with the Midday Office led by the monks in the Abbey Church which will be open throughout the afternoon for prayers, periods of silence and music.

The afternoon will include guided tours of the estate; including the School, and St Bruno’s Retreat Centre. There will be opportunities to meet the monks and to learn more about the history of Worth Abbey and life at Worth today.

Refreshments will be available on the South Terrace overlooking the Weald and the South Downs. The Retreat Centre will be ready to welcome visitors. You can learn about the opportunities for retreats and days for prayer and spiritual reflection at Worth.

Families are especially welcome and we will have activities for the children to enjoy. Admittance is free.
