The power of the Worthian network!

Bloom & Wild delivery guys helping Augment Bionics deliver facial shields to Charing Cross Hospital
This is such a great story that just keeps going and demonstrates the power of the Worthian Society network and what can be achieved when Worthians are connnected and work together.

You will have seen our reports of Will Harries R'15 who has been producing facial shields for the NHS with his team from Augment Bionics (who were printing 3D prosthetic limbs), and that with crowdfunding had managed to grow production from 1,000 facial shields to 10,000 a week. Will then asked for the Worth Society's help to put a call out to the network to see if Worthians might be able to support the production and delivery process in various ways.
Piers Spencer B'14 who works in Operations for Bloom & Wild, the flower delivery service, got in touch with Will and last week delivered 6,000 masks to Charing Cross Hospital on their behalf. Ed Nunn B'03, Head of Distribution for Norgine, a major pharmaceutical company, also got in touch and is putting together a plan to help Will and his team. In addition, Maahan Mirnezami R'16, who is currently a medical student but who had also started his own medical concierge company ARCHAEMENID, is able to source PPE and other vital equipment and has now been in contact with Will and his team to organise a collaboration. A fantastic effort by all involved!

As the Head Master said at the Year 13 Dinner & Dance just before lock-down, "The Worth Society is a very powerful network".
