Jonathan Kelly B'88 showed impeccable timing with the launch late last year of his new tour operating business to Cuba, Guatemala & the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico. At least the name of the business, Beyond The Ordinary, was prescient.
While these are challenging times for everyone, and our collective health and well-being must always be the number one priority, in the likes of Cuba, Guatemala & Mexico there are hundreds of thousands of people whose livelihoods are tied up with the tourism industry and who have almost no fallback position.
So remember, going on holiday may be an unnecessary luxury for us, but it is an absolute necessity for a great many of those working in the industry.
